Tickets to Sports Events: Thumbs Up to Interactive

If it is Friday then we are talking technology.  I wanted to discuss a company I worked with at the Anaheim Ducks that has played a significant role in the way sports team sell tickets to fans.

Once upon a time, when you wanted to buy a ticket to a baseball, football or hockey game, you had a print out of what stadium seating looked like and the specific sections of where you wanted to sit.  Teams then advanced this process and moved it online with static pictures of seating layouts for an easy view of how tickets correlated with seating locations.

Fast forward to this decade and Ballena Technologies has been providing solutions to sports organizations on how to better sell tickets over the net.  Why guess what your view is going to look like at a home game for the Mets when you can see it.  I was impressed the company already has the rendering for Citi Field up and ready for New York’s home opener.  Here is a quick look.

The technology allows you to see team pricing for each section in the stadium and then the corresponding view.  Some of the teams listed on their web site that are clients of Ballena include: St. Louis CardinalsOakland A’s and San Diego Padres In the NFL, the Giants and Jets as well as the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks are also clients.  Ballena lists 18 different categories of clients on their web site including NCAA schools as well as Disney.

Here is more about the company and a link to their web site.
