As you return to work this week, hopefully you are telling friends and co-workers that you enjoyed your Thanksgiving weekend.  It is a bit tougher for Tiger Woods, who reportedly was in a one car accident outside his home.

The media has been reporting that his wife helped rescue him from the car by smashing the window in his Escalade with a golf club.

On Sunday evening, ESPN showed part of the statement Wood made via his web site and  ESPN played part of the 911 call, which is featured as part of the clip below.

We found out that Tiger Woods is human after all.  On the positive side, he immediately took responsibility for his actions.  We still do not know what really happened at 2:25 a.m. or why it happened.  He also said in his statement that this was a private matter.  What that really means is that he does not want the story of what really happened to be made public.  I loved the comment by an old friend and a sports PR pro who said on facebook last night “I’d like to know what really happened with Tiger.”

I am torn with this news.  On the one hand, I completely agree that this IS a private matter.  It happened outside his house and is no one’s business.  On the other hand, when one of the most famous athletes in the world is laying on the road unconscious, naturally people are going to be curious about it.

The bottom line is, whatever is being said by Tiger or his representatives better be the truth.  If he is ever caught in a lie regarding this matter, his reputation will take a sever hit.

If all of this wasn’t enough, Tiger can’t exactly hide from the media like he’s been avoiding giving the police an official statement.  This week, he is hosting the Chevron World Challenge a Golf Tournament in Thousand Oaks.  If you think he is going to skip it, It benefit his Foundation, the Tiger Woods Foundation. He will be there and have a few tough questions to answer….
